A good number of them will be away from home for the first time in their lives and will have to adjust to a new stage of life. College is fun because you get to try new things. There are also things you should try to avoid. Try to avoid going to parties alone. Bring a friend or two along with you because there’s safety in numbers. If you show up at a gathering and things don’t feel quite right, you know you have some people who have your back and vise versa. If you’re pulling an all nighter at the library and you’re a little skeeved out by walking home alone in the dark, colleges and universities will more than likely have some sort of security personnel who can escort you back to your dorm. Keep that number handy.
The moral of the story; use common sense when you’re out and have some friends who will always have your back!
